Core values are the backbone of daily operation at U.S. Business Systems. Core Value #5 says, “Be a good citizen.” To us, this means supporting and helping out in the community, both as a business and as individuals. To remain true to this core value, we choose a charity each quarter to donate a portion of proceeds to. This quarter Boys and Girls Clubs of Benton Harbor was the charity of choice. At the end of the quarter, $1500 was donated to better the lives of local youth in Southwest Michigan.
However, this was a unique donation for U.S. Business Systems. We were invited on a tour of the facility where youth of varying ages spoke about the difference Boys and Girls Clubs of Benton Harbor made in each of their lives. It was a humbling experience for those in attendance, as youth spoke about the confidence the organization has given them to publicly speak, pursue dreams in basketball and choreography, and become a role model to younger children in the program.
Southwest Michigan sales representative, Jim Foster, has worked with the organization for years. Yet, the tour opened his eyes to the daily struggles youth face and the progress they are making towards becoming productive, responsible adults. Foster said, “This was a great night for our company and myself, personally. To think my hard work has had an impact on these kids and on the Benton Harbor Boys and Girls Clubs is just awesome. Thank you to all our business partners that contributed to this cause.” On behalf of the company, we would like to thank every client who made this donation possible by making a purchase with U.S. Business Systems during the third quarter.
